- Submit your change of address forms to post office.

- Give your new home address to friends and family.
- Have a garage sale or in any other case lighten up the load.
Checklist For Relocating - 1 Or 2 Weeks Before
- Transfer your banking accounts to your new location.
- Return rented movies, books to library, etc.
- Have your prescriptions transferred to the new location.
- Clean your home.
- Call for power shut-offs and new connections.
- Get rid of stuffs that won't be moved.
- Begin packing and labling containers.
- Organize and pack an "essentials" box for arrival (toiletries, paper plates, and the like.).
- Final moving plans (get hotel bookings; get road directions, and so on.).
Checklist For Moving Day
- Make sure to eat.
- Start early.
- Check out every room and storage area.
- Switch off all lights, lock the doors.
- Give the house keys to the new owner or real estate agent.
There will probably be a lot more items to put to your personalized list. Start out listing anything you think of once you know when you will be moving. Do you have your new phone ready to use when you arrive at the new home? Will you need to go back across the country simply because you forgot about a safe-deposit box?
